Father's Day Tour June 9, 2013

by Barb Hayes
(Lakefield, ON)

Hi there...we all met at Peterborough & then travelled to the Lift Lock for a tour of the museum there & we were able to watch a few boats being locked through. We then toured through the hamlet of Warsaw & around Stoney Lake. Some members visited Lockside Trading for some shopping. Later we made our way south along the river road to the home of Allan Bolton. Mr. Bolton welcomed us to peruse his excellent display of restored tractors. We were able to rest & socialize in our lawn chairs at the Bolton's & after that we all met at the Burnham Mansion for a delicious buffet supper. The weather was excellent for touring around the Peterborough area & we thank Jim & Sharon Legon for organizing this most enjoyable tour.
